Two executives from the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) have joined the advisory boards of two renowned integrative medicine organizations.

UNPA President Loren Israelsen has accepted an invitation to become a member of the Bastyr University Council, and Frank Lampe, vice president, communications and industry relations, has joined the Leadership Council for the Institute for Natural Medicine (INM).
 
The Bastyr University Council is an advisory board of thought leaders and community supporters who help to advise the Seattle-based university throughout its process of growth and transformation. The university’s 2021 Strategic Plan guides the council’s agenda, inclusive of improving the career preparedness of its graduates, expanding its research efforts, serving a greater number of patients in its clinics and creating opportunities for people around the world to learn about the work of Bastyr University and its graduates.
 
“Mr. Israelsen’s extensive, diverse knowledge of herbal products, experiences gained in his advisory board positions over the years and his service on the editorial advisory board of Nutrition Business Journal will serve Bastyr University well on many levels of executing our strategic plan,” said Harlan Patterson, chair of Bastyr’s board of trustees. “During his visit to Bastyr University Seattle, Mr. Israelsen toured and familiarized himself with our teaching clinic, the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and met with Dr. Jamey Wallace, chief medical officer. He also spent time with Dr. Leanna Standish, medical director of Bastyr’s Integrative Oncology Research Center. We welcome Loren to the Bastyr Council.”

Founded in 1992, the Institute for Natural Medicine envisions optimal health and well-being through the transformation of the healthcare system by education about and promotion of the principles and practices of naturopathic medicine. As a member of the INM Leadership Council, Mr. Lampe will assist INM in its fundraising and marketing efforts and help create collaborations between naturopathic medicine and the natural products industry.
